I.Q. Metals is a family-owned and operated, Montana-based machine shop specializing in small-scale design, machining, automation, and fabrication for the firearms and sporting goods industries. With 35+ years of experience in various constructions and fabrication fields, we have always believed that all good things are worth doing yourself and so we run our company with this same attitude.
We started off as a bunch of hands-on enthusiasts, but a love of firearms, motorcycles, cars, and wood working turned us into serious machinists after we purchased a CNC plasma cutter in 2008 and our first manual lathe in 2010. By 2013 it had become apparent this ‘hobby’ had turned into more with the purchase of our first CNC milling machines. Our side project has now become a thriving self-taught machining and fabrication business.
